Really beautiful location 30 minutes into the forest. You can stay in bungalows or camp in your tent (cheaper).
Usually there are 30 to 40 people on the trip.
There are several good hikes around the area for all levels so there will be something to do for everyone. 100m away there is a rock climbing area - most routes are intermediate but a few for beginners. If you don't want to exercise you can just enjoy the BBQ and relax.
We usually have a special private outdoor bath for our group. Its by the stream and can fit up to about 16 people if you squeeze together! Wine and beer in the bath is our policy.
Cost
7,500 yen for lodge, bath, dinner, drinks, breakfast and leftovers taken for lunch.
People with their own tents pay 6,300 yen (not much cheaper).
Non-members of OCJ have to pay 1,000 yen more (membership of the club for 1 year).
Please bring exact amount and pay on the train. On the train we will decide the menu and prepare for shopping at Ome station. We carry the food and drinks to the campsite if the tractor is not free. He normally charges 5,000yen per trip and it only takes 30 mins to walk it.
After that we can relax, go hiking, rock climbing ... until about 4pm when cooking starts.
On Sunday I will guide a **.5 hike over Mitake San and along a ridge to rocks, caves and waterfalls. You will have to carry your bag for this hike (travel light!). If someone volunteers to guide an easy beginners hike to 3 waterfalls, you can leave your bags at the campsite and pick them up later.
These prices do not include bedding - mattress, blankets, sheets, pillow etc. They can be hired as a set (1050 yen) or individually as you need. I suggest you take warm cloths and hire a mattress and blanket, or take a sleeping bag.
Meeting Time & Place
On the platform at Shinjuku station or the ticket gate at Ome station.
1011 direct train to Ome arriving 1115
It stops at Tachikawa 1037 and cost 780 yen single.
We will meet at the front of the train on platform 10 (should be this one) at 10 o'clock.
I need to check people in and collect the fee before we can start shopping.
After shopping we will continue on the train to Hatonosu station and walk to the campsite from there.
It is over the river and up the hill by road to a carpark, and forest trail from there (easy to find).
